The Activities of SUNAINA  from April 2013 to August 2015


•    Abhilasha Patro, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, performed her Arangetram at Karnataka Sangha on 6th April 2013.

•    Guru Kanaka Sudhakar with her senior disciples performed at the Chitirai Festival at Chidambaram and Tanjavur in which they presented a unique dance drama Navarasa Nayaki in April.

•    Sowmya Bhaskar, a senior level scholarship student of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, performed her Arangetram at the Karnataka Sangha on 27th April.


•    Praharhini and Saradyuti were awarded with the prestigious Narthanasree awards at Vishakahapatnam.

•    67 Classical, Semi- Classical and Folk performances were  presented by Nrityabharati students at the All India Level Classical Dance competitions at Pune hosted by ABSS Pune where they won 39 prizes and 2 students Akshita Pillai and V. Vaishnavi were awarded with the Yuva Ratna Award.

•    On July 3rd Harshita , Sabarni, Saradyuti and Akshita Pillai, disciples of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, performed at the Aishwarya Mahaganapathim Temple on occasion of Temple foundation Day.

•    Anusha Ramachandran, senior disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, performed for Ilaya Bharatham at the Delhi Tamil Sangam on July 7th.

•    On July 17th Nrityabharati opened a new branch in collaboration with the Alka Noopur Centre for Performing Arts at Gurgaon.

•    Arathy Nair and Aswathy Nair, disciples of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, performed their Arangetram at the Karnataka Sangha on July 27th.


•    Dikshita Venkatesh, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, presented her Arangetram at the Internatinal Sai Centre , Lodhi Road in August.

•    On 25th August, Nrityabharati collaborated with Natya Saraswati for a Festival of Indian Classical Dances.
•    Students of Nrityabharati presented Janamashtami Program at the Lawrence Road on 27th Aug.

•    Fancy Dress competition was organized in Budding Blossoms School.

•    On 28th August, disciples of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, presented a grand Bharatanatyam performance for Janamashtami at the Birla Mandir.

•    AUGUST 30TH : PRESENTATION OF KRISHNA GANGA – NATIONAL INTEGRATION SERIES on the songs of Guru Bade Ramdas by Kanaka Sudhakar and Senior disciples at the Delhi Tamil Sangam .

•    On September 14th Rashi Choudhary presented her Arangetram at the Islamic cultural Centre Lodhi Road.

•    Lecture demonstrations were conducted in schools on the Benefits of dance on 20th September.

•    KALARPANAM was presented on 2nd October where a grand Annual Dance performance was showcased at the Delhi Tamil Sangam with 200 Nrityabharti students.

•    Sapna Anil Attavar, senior disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar was blessed to perform for the Hon’ble President of India at the Rashtrapathi Bhawan on 21 September 2013 in an hour long group dance, along with differently-abled disciples of Guru Salauddin Pasha’s Ability Unlimited Foundation.

•    Nrityabharati students competed on 18th October in the MTNL health mela Dance competitions and won 11 prizes

•    On 20th October Ramya Kannan, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar performed her Arangetram at the Delhi Tamil Sangam

•    November 8 – 11th: BAL KALA UTSAV 2013 – a grand children’s festival of Dance, Music, Drama and Arts was hosted by SUNAINA for talented youngsters from all over India. More than 300 prizes were awarded.

•    Sports Day was celebrated in Budding Blossoms school.

•    Children’s Day Programme was organized by Delhi Tamil Sangam on 14th November where V Vaishnavi presented solo performance and duet presentation was by Ramya Kannan & Dikshita Venkatesh.

•    Annual theory and practical examinations 2013 were conducted from Nov 24th- Dec 24th in which 622 candidates gave exams in music and dances.

•    Budding Blossoms celebrated Christmas.



2014

•    Pongal program at Ram Mandir Dwaraka

•    Bridgette George, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, performed for West Zonal Cultural Centre on 4th January 2014
•    Guru Kanaka Sudhakar collaborated with Ministry of Social Empowerment for ‘SAMARTH’ as judge for dance competitions for the disabled.

•    Nrityabharti students presented a dance program for DD Bharati on Saraswati Puja.

•    Aparajita Sarma, senior disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, presented Nandanar Charitram, in obeisance to Lord Shiva at Delhi Tamil Sangam on 8th February.

•    Budding Blossoms school students were taken on an excursion to FUN TOWN.

•    Arathy Nair received the senior scholarship from the Sahitya Kala Parishad.

•    Budding Blossoms celebrated Holi.

•    Guru Kanaka Sudhakar’s senior disciples presented Bharatanatyam at the Natyanjali 2014 at Thirunallaru, Nagapattinam, Tanjavur and Kumbakonam in March.

•    Vaishnavi Vishwanath performed thematic solo programmes on Lord Rama namely “Jey Jey Ram” at Sree Ram Mandir Dwaraka on 2nd March 2014, on Lord Shiva namely -“Shiva Shiva”, at Delhi Tamil Sangam, on 14th May 2014 and “Om Namashiva”, at Thanjavur Lord Brahadeswara Temple on Pradosham day on 10 July 2014.

•    In April, Arangetram performance of Sadhvi Sunderesan, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, was presented at the Delhi Tamil Sangam.

•    On May 3rd Praharhini Vadamalini and Sadhvi Sunderesan presented Bharatanatyam for the Ilaya Bharatham.

•    Spic Macay inaugural dance was presented at Gurgaon by Ms.Ramya Kannan, Ms.Abilasha Patro, Ms.Vaishnavi Vishwanath, Ms.Anusha Ramachandran and Ms.Sapna Anil Attavar.

•    Annual results of Music and Dance Exams were declared by The ABGMV Mandal , Miraj.

•    May 25 to 26th: Performances of 33 students of Nrityabharati was presented at Kalanilayam in Andhra Pradesh where 30 prizes were procured.

•    In competitions for Global harmony ABSS Pune, 52 Nrityabharti students performed and all of them won awards. Yuva Ratnam Puruskar was awarded to V Praharhini, Tanya Gambhir, Ishika Sachdeva and Gomathi Shankar.

•    In June Arathy Nair presented Bharatanataym for Guruvayurappan temple

•    Guru Kanaka Sudhakar & disciples Aparajita Sarma and V Praharhini conducted Bharatanatyam workshops, as a part of Ministry of Culture scheme, in Kamal Model School and Vandana International school.

•    Nrityabharati troupe presented dance performance for ISCKON Delhi for Janamashtami festival.

•    Anusha Ramachandran, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar presented her Arangetram performance at the Delhi Tamil Sangam in July.


•    Nrityabharati students from Delhi and Chandigarh performed at Bhargava Auditorium PGI, in Chandigarh.

•    C. Aisha, disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, was awarded with the junior scholarship from CCRT, Govt of Delhi.

•    On 17th September, a special segment was featured on DD National programme, IMAGES, on women empowerment where alumnis & senior artists of Nrityabharti were interviewed.

•    Budding Blossoms celebrated Independence Day. Tilak Nagar MLA, Ritu Vohra, blessed the event.

•    On 18th August, Nrityabharati troupe performed at the Birla Mandir temple and also at the Astika Samaj Lawrence Road.

•    August 27th: Presentation of National Integration Series II 2014 KRISHNAMAYEE MEERA ANDAL at the India Habitat Centre Lodhi Road, in collaboration with Guru Jitendra Maharaj.

•    Krishnamayee Andal was presented for Kerala Samajam on 5th September at Uttara Guruvayur Appan Temple.

•    On 2nd October, Nrityabharati Troupe presented a four hour performance for Bihar Yuva Durga Puja Samiti Karolbagh.

•    On 5th October, Nrityabharati troupe presented a beautiful dance performance for the Kullu Deushehra Festival in Kullu.

•    October 7th to 11th: Bharatanatyam workshops and demonstrations were conducted for SPIC MACAY by senior artiste Aparajita Sarma and assisted by Samridhi Misra at govt schools of Kota, Rajasthan.


•    On 15th October Nrityabharati students participated and won prizes in the MTNL Health Mela Dance Competitions.


•    Vipanchi Rao and Parvathy Ramesh performed at Central Park for Sahitya Kala Parishad in October.


•    Budding Blossoms celebrated Diwali.

•    On 25th October, Arangetram Performance of Yamini Gururani was presented at the CCRT Auditorium Dwarka.


•    ‘INDRADHANUSH DILLI 2014’ a grand five day festival or hosted for the fifth consecutive year. This included Indradhanush Youth festival which showcased mesmerizing performances by 40 youth artistes and Bal Kala Utsav, National Children’s festival of Dance. Music , Drama and Art where talented children from all over India participated and won over 500 prizes. This year also started active participation of 83 differently abled children from all over India.

•    Nrityabharati conducted annual dance and music examinations from prarambhik visharad level fin November and December for 500 candidates.

•    On December 26th , V. Vaishnavi was conferred with Dwarka City Torch Bearer Of Dwarka Award 2014-Best Student Extra Curricular. She also received the Sahitya Pratibha award by Janasanskriti.

•    On 27th December Nrityabharati presents Natyanjali, A traditional Bharatanatyam Performance with lec-dem on Therapeutic benefits of Indian Classical Dances at Sri Rama Rajyam Auditorium at Sri Shiva Shankar Baba Ashram, Kelambakkam, Mahabalipuram Road.

•    On 28th December - Krishnamayee Andal for Naadabrahmam at Rama Krishna Higher secondary school, south, TAG auditorium, Dhandapani Street, T Nagar, chennai.

•    On January 5th Guru Smt Kanaka Sudhakar was honoured with the Guru of the Year 2014 award from Kala Keralam., New Delhi.

•    Nrityabharati troupe presented a traditional Bharatanatyam performance for Naadaneerajanam , Tirupati on March 15th which was telecasted live on SVBC channel.

•    On March 26th , Nrityabharati students presented performance in Epicentre Auditorium, Gurgaon on 26th March as a part of 6th Annual Sangeet Nritya Utsav organized by IWCF . They also performed for Raahgiri Dwarka, organized by Hindustan Times

•    In 1st May, Durga Menon, senior disciple of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar presented her Arangetram at the Delhi Tamil Sangam Auditorium.

•    In April, V Praharhini and Parvathy Ramesh were awarded with the senior scholarship from the Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi Govt.

•    Guru Kanaka Sudhakar conducted Bharatanatyam workshop for the steel plant children in Bhilai and presented a traditional Bharatanatyam performance.

•    On May 14th, Nrityabharati presented its 28th Annual Dance Presentation, KALIEDOSCOPE, with 150 students.

•    Nrityabharati students participated in the Global Harmony National Competitions by the Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangha, Pune and bagged 28 prizes.

•    On June 6th , Adhya Bharadwaj and V Saradyuthi danced for the Telangana formation day.

•    V Vaishnavi presented solo dance performance at the India Habitat Centre on June 17th

22nd October- Vijayadashami celebrations and new admissions in Nrityabharati.

24th October- Lavanya Julienne, presents her Arangetram in Bharatanatyam at the Sai International Auditorium at 6:30pm
